We recently received a grant from Headwaters Foundation for Justice to develop a museum exhibition advocating alternatives to policing in 2018.
“MPD150 will develop and present a public exhibition advocating for alternatives to the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). This exhibition, which will be held in 2018, will contain sections on the history of MPD, current relationships between the community and MPD, and viable alternatives to the police. The exhibition will include display boards, audio and video, activities and more. They will use it as an opportunity to have conversations about community safety alternatives with community members, and incorporate their lived experiences into further efforts. Through narrative and cultural organizing, MPD150 intends to both shift the story around policing and build power with community for further community safety work in the near future.”
